Still on Huawei, the Chinese tech giant has globally announced its first set of standalone monitors which are called the MateView and the more advanced MateView GT propelled towards gamers while the MateView, on its part, is targeted at professionals but the company didn’t release any detail on its availability.
The beautiful monitors were released just a few days back in China. Both monitor comes with some impressive technology such high resolution and ultra-slim design aessthetics.
The devices will now be going to Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe and Nordic regions, Middle East, Africa, Russia, Asia-Pacific, Western European Union, Japan, and other regions.
In terms of features to expect, the MateView comes with a 28.2-inch IPS display with a 3840 x 2560 resolution and 500 nits of brightness making it really bright for indoor usage. It also has a 94% screen-to-body ratio and a 3:2 aspect ratio.

Still on the specs, you get a 98% DCI-P3 color gamut with 100% sRGB which Huawei seems to now be popularizing. This technology gives the display more color options than the conventional RGB on most popular displays.
The slim and modern design of the monitor also makes it interesting and the thin bezels mean you get less distractions. I can’t wait to review this device.
Other inclusions are two USB-C ports for power supply and display, data transmission and also external device charging because the MateView monitor is able to chunk out a whopping 65W of charging power.
The dual USB-C ports aren’t the two ports on the monitor. You also get two USB 3.0 ports and an HDM 2.0 port, a MiniDP and a 3.5mm headphone jack which also function as the microphone port.
Now onto the MateView GT, this one has a bigger 34-inch display which is curved for better gaming experience. It has a 350 nits of brightness and its display resolution is about 3440 x 1440 pixels.
Its aspect ratio is 21:9 and a 4000:1 contrast ratio. The screen has support for a 165Hz refresh rate which is expected to make game animations fast and responsive.
The display is certified by TÜV Rheinland Eye Care meaning it is safe for the eyes even after a long gaming session.
To top it up, Huawei is generous enough to include a soundbar at the base of the MateView GT which has 5W speakers – really cool aesthetics.
As for the pricing, there’s no official statement from the company as far as the global price tag goes but if we’re to judge by the Chinese market price, then we could get the base MateView for US$730 (CNY 4,699) while the other one the MateView GT is about US$560 (CNY 3,599). Both device do not have a color variant as they’re all white – not cool because even Apple’s recent iMac 24 comes with multiple color option.
