While there is series of months ahead before the official release of the Google Pixel 5 XL, teasers and 3D renders have already been springing on the Internet. Just like any other smartphone, we saw the same happen to the now released Galaxy S20 series and since that’s out of the way officially, we’re on to the next one.
Google on one hand had always failed to keep the Pixel smartphones secret until launch which usually lead to series of leaks and renders online. The fact that the device will itself get released around late 2020 is much certain which means there is room for many of these rumors to change with time. So treat this with leak as just another rumor not an exact device.

How the render came about was via a video shared by FrontPageTech host, Jon Prosser who did the render himself based upon insider information he’d gotten from “reliable sources” according to him.
Prosser had obtained some CAD files for the upcoming Pixel 5XL which was then used to recreate a visual composition or render which showcases how the device will look.

According to him, there are about three prototypes in development and the one he’d rendered is just another one of those three. According to him, the other two prototypes gave the same square-shaped camera module just as the Pixel 4 series.
Other information about the design includes the retention of the soft matte glass back with a glossy camera module just as we saw it on the Pixel 4 Series. And the three sensors gets housed in a slightly elongated semi-circular housing which might not really be great to the eyes unless we actually see it released I guess. Considering the fact that the iPhone 11 series camera setup too wasn’t really great when it’s rendering came out back then but the radical design and arrangement changed everything and we can even see Samsung doing something similar with its Galaxy S20 lineup.
It’s like this bundled up module is a new trend for the new decade because most major smartphone makers now implement the design. Its kind of trending just like the notch back in 2017 and 2018.
Anyway ugly module or not, the inclusion of a wide-angle sensor on the Pixel 5XL will be a great news because that let us down when the Pixel 4XL was unveiled without it. Its a growing feature which premium flagship devices from the Huawei Mate 30 Pro to iPhone 11 Pro has.
While only the back of the device’s render was rendered, the front wasn’t but according to Jon Prosser, the Pixel 5XL will have a similar look at the front just like the older Pixel 4 series which is a smaller forehead. Does that mean Google is getting rid of the Soli sensor? Unfortunately, we don’t know that.
You can watch him explain how he came about the render himself below.
