Samsung seems to be doing just fine this year despite numerous companies melting down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The company maintained its top position as the number 1 in the smartphone market right above the likes of Huawei, Xiaomi and even Apple which dropped to the fourth place recently in the Q3 2020.
Samsung published an infographic where it stated its earnings in the major happenings in the smartphone market during the third-quarter.

According to a research firm the Global Smartphone Market shipment declined by 4% YoY in Q3 2020 but then this grew to 32% QoQ. With this, the entire market shipped 366 million units.
Splitting thing up, the India Smartphone Market exceeded pre-COVID-19 levels during this period while the smartphone shipments reached a whooping 53 million units and therefore grew 9% YoY and 188% QoQ respectively.

Samsung on the other hand led the Global Smartphone Market but also three out of the top players in the markets such as Europe, Latin America and Middle East and Africa, Samsung topped the topped the table while Huawei was a leader in Asia while Apple held on to the North America.
Samsung was able to achieve a whooping 80.4 million smartphone units which also makes it the company’s highest-ever shipments in the last 3 years which translates to a 3% YoY and 48% QoQ growths respectively.
Further, Xiaomi made it to the top 5 charts in three regions. The smartphone maker also surpassed Apple for the first time to obtain the third spot in the Global Smartphone Market with a 13% share and 75% QoQ growth.

Aside Xiaomi or Samsung, another smartphone maker that is enjoying the year so far is Realme which was able to grew with 132% QoQ in Q3 and also reached its milestone of 50 million shipments making it one of the fast growing smartphone brand.
Apple on the other hand has seen their sales declining by 7% YoY in the Q3 of 2020 which many media outlet think its due to the company’s delay of its flagship smartphone, the iPhone 12 series.
