Xiaomi is known for being innovative and one of it’s patent showed the company had been playing around with technology as it can be seen very much on the Mi Mix Alpha with a wrap-around display which when announced last year people thought it was a pure joke but well, the device was released and it’s in the market in case you want to buy one.
But this time around, he Chinese tech giant is working on another interesting piece of tech which had led tot the patent of a unique styled smartphone which had a in-built wireless headset within it. The Gif below showcased that innovation.

LetsGoDigital made the report that Xiaomi had filed a patent with the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) which was published on the 24th, July 2020. According to the filings, the device doesn’t seems to have any ultra mind-blowing feature aside the two earbuds that is being housed within the device itself.
Just as we’ve seen in devices like the Samsung Galaxy Note series which houses the device’s stylus pen, this might just become the new norms for smartphone makers as it would ultimately eliminate the carrying of an extra earbud charging casing which takes extra spaces.

Even though it’s just an earbud but one thing that stands out is the design of the earbuds which is able to bend when pulled out of the device as it needs to be straightened in order to be slotted right into the device’s top.
Another thing is that the placement of the earbud has a little bump at the top of the device which means it doesn’t entirely sit and flatten out with the device’s chassis. This can be as a way to easily pull out the earbuds from the device without having to poke something into it.

With that said, the implementation of an earbud within a device itself isn’t entirely new as there have been some smart bands and smartwatches with earbuds within them . The implementation of this on a smartphone could have some negative effects on the devices water resistance and so forth.
But again, this is just a patent and doesn’t necessarily mean the company will ever release a device with such feature meanwhile, we can hope this kind of technology can be well tuned to match up with the average user as well as good IP ratings.
