The heir of Samsung Group conglomerate, Lee Jae-yong who is also the Vice chairman o Samsung Electronics had been in serious hot water since allegations dating back since the year 2015 over bribery and corruption might get him jailed again as prosecutors are said to be seeking an arrest warrant against Lee with arguments that he should be detained while they investigate new allegations right up against him. Lee Jae-yung arrest will follow after court order.
Earlier, we reported that Lee Jae-young was brought in or questioning over numerous counts especially over his alleged succession plans while the new allegations is based on the controversial 2015 merger of two Samsung Group companies, Cheil Industries and Samsung C&T.
Lee is being accused of accounting fraud which allegedly could help him gain full control of the company. Meanwhile Samsung last week said it was “beyond common sense” to suggest that Lee was directly involved, according to Reuters.
Lee had therefore attended an hearing this morning in Seoul and is currently waiting to find out if he will get arrested or not. Based on requests from prosecutors, he could be held up for 20 days before court would require the filing of charges which could get him a six month time. But the decision will be reached today or tomorrow.

Lee had had numerous legal battles in the past and this continues even in 2020 and with so many scandals piling up, he had at some point apologized publicly about being involved in corrupt practices such as with the case of the former South Korean president Park Geun-hye and that case is still holding up a retrial which hasn’t yet being held so it’s obvious Lee is in hot water.
