The new detail we’re getting now is that Google is in fact planning to debut its own foldable smartphone as early as May, this year.
According to the report, the device will debut alongside the next-gen Pixel 7a during the Google I/O event. The tech giant is in fact planning to start the sales of the devices that same month.
According to WinFuture, the Pixel Fold will reportedly come with 256GB of internal storage and the color options will just be two: Carbon and Porcelain. And as for the pricing, there isn’t anything known just yet about it.
Apart from the Pixel Fold, the Pixel 7a is also said to sport a 128GB of storage and the color options will include Carbon, Cotton, and Arctic Blue. While the price will reportedly be around US$500.

The fact that Google is also jumping ships and coming into the foldable smartphone market is an interesting one, especially considering how soon the company might e mang that leap.
This will surely shake up Samsung’s dominance as the leader in the foldable smartphone market as more and more companies are coming onboard. When Apple joins as well, the foldable smartphone market might see a huge price reduction which will make the device more accessible and affordable to everyone that wants it.
