Details about the new Tesla Powerwall+ as well as its installation process after the power update was announced by the company’s CEO Elon Musk last week has now been released along with an image.
There were earlier reports circulating around the internet about the electric car maker discussing significant power capacity increase for the home battery back after the major update to the Powerwall 2 was released back in 2016.
According to Elon Musk, the company began the manufacturing of the new Powerwall back in November 2020 and talks about a new version which is expected to beat the older version has been in talk for quite a while.
Now Tesla has started sending spec sheets of what they are now calling the ‘Powerwall +’ to new buyers (via tangarg):

The company wrote about the updated home battery pack:
Powerwall+ is an integrated solar battery system to store energy from solar production. Its integrated design and streamlined installation allow for a simple connection to any home, and improved surge power capability brings whole home backup in a smaller package. System smart controls enable owners to customize system behavior to suit their renewable energy needs.”
Tesla has a new inverter with integrated breaker that sits on top of the new Powerwall+ – giving the installation a new look:

It looks like the new device might replace Tesla’s Powerwall Gateway and the specs-sheet showed an increase in the capacity of the charging system which has now increase to 9.6kW from 5kW. Below is the full specification of the new Tesla Powerwall+
