As we all know, Xiaomi makes all things literally and one of their latest from the knock-off brand is a smart TV.
For the records, Xiaomi is reportedly the largest smart TV manufacturer in India which is why they’re now rolling out an interesting software update for their smart TV.
Select Mi and Redmi TVs will sport the new feature that will allow their smart TVs to offer support for Alexa.
Considering the fact that the majority of the smart TVs sold by the Chinese tech giant in India all comes with Android TV and PatchWall content aggregation, the TVs by default, therefore, offer support for Google Assistant

A move away to also include other platforms will further help diversify the brand’s reach on the market with the inclusion of the “Works with Alexa” app for select TV models.
The update is being released on the Redmi Smart TV X Series and Mi QLED TV 4K 55 with build numbers R21.10.29.3261 and R21.10.29.3261 for the former and the latter respectively.
Another important update includes a security patch to the current level. The software announcement was made by Sudeep Sahu who is the head of the TV category at Xiaomi India.
The update is expected to be rolled out in batches meaning some people may get theirs before others.
