With Honor sold out by Huawei, the company now focuses on its in-house mid-range smartphones among which is the Nova 8 SE which is being rumored to have been spotted by a tipster known for Huawei leaks. Based on the information that was shared on Weibo, the tipster stated that the Huawei Nova 8 and Nova 8 Plus will both be released by Dec. 23rd in China and sales will start that same day but as for the specifications, there isn’t any information shared.
Both if we’re to look at the previous model, the lite version Nova 8 SE was released just last month and it sports the MediaTek Dimensity 720 and Dimensity 800U chipsets and with that said, speculations has it that the next-gen high-end Nov 8 series could sport a higher MediaTek chipset but who knows, Huawei might just opt for its Kirin SoC.
Aside the aforementioned information, previous leaks about the Nova 8’s camera points to the device sporting a quad rear camera setup with an LED flash.

The devices are also expected to make use of the hole-punch camera cutout up front to house the device’s front facing camera while the high-end variant (Nova 8 Plus) could have curved edge display while both devices could also have high refresh rates.
But that aside, the pricing of the Nova 8 series is rumored to be around US$450 (approximately CN¥ 3,000 / SAR 6,846 / NG₦ 171,225) while the high-end model, the Nova 8 Plus is expected to have a price tag of about US$459 (approximately CN¥ 4,000 / SAR 6,983 / NG₦ 174,649).
The price point can be linked with the earlier released Huawei Nova 8 SE with the Dimensity 720 chipset which come with a price tag of US$398 (approximately CN¥ 2,599 / SAR 6,055 / NG₦ 151439) while the version with the Dimensity 800U costs about US$413 (approximately CN¥ 2,699 / SAR 6,283 / NG₦ 157,146).
The chipset seems to be the only difference in the Nova 8 SE models as both have similar specs and 6.53-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 16MP front facing camera and a 64MP quad rear setup while the power is derived from a 3,800mAh battery with 66W super fast charging.
