Tesla, the big guy in the electric vehicle cars business is said to no longer be building even a single car at the moment right at its Shanghai plant as report from Bloomberg has it that the company has told its workers to return to work by May 9th after a planned 5 days Labor Day break in the country which extends the work stoppage by another 2 days.
The citation was came from a Chinese website 36Kr which had reported that Tesla is experiencing component shortages which is affecting the Model 3’s production as well as problems with a piece of production equipment. Tesla as of now only builds the Model 3 in China with plans to further extends production of other models such as the “Y” in the future according to the company’s CEO, Elon Musk.
Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment. But with its Chinese plant not functioning, Tesla isn’t therefore building any car for now worldwide as its main plant in Fremont, California is been shut down since March 23rd due to its response to the Coronavirus pandemic as the company also furloughed some its workers while cutting the salaries of others.
But production in its California-based plant is said to commence pretty soon as Tesla had maintain a number of staffs to maintain the facility but is said t o be set to increase its staffing by next week when it reopens.
