The year 2011 was the last time NASA sent astronauts into the International Space Station (ISS) from the US soil. But May 27th is the time when SpaceX Crew Dragon is scheduled to head back to the ISS with two members on board.

Jim Bridenstine, NASA Administrator made this known in a news posted via social media where the event is being hyped in a short video clip.

This will be another incredible milestone for the NASA’s Commercial Crew Program which involves SpaceX and Boeing working on making vehicles which can carry humans to the ISS which is an attempt by the organization to end its reliance on the Russian Soyuz spacecraft.

Astronauts going this time includes Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley who are going to board the Demo-2 mission while SpaceX Demo-1 mission took place last year uncrewed Crew Dragon made a successful journey to and fro the ISS.

The mission will launch from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida with an assist from a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket emblazoned with a throwback NASA “worm” logo.  Both NASA and SpaceX both hope this will change the face of the human spaceflight.
