Anyone ever tried using the large camera on a mobile device before? The incredible 20megapixel1 inch sensor which sits conveniently at the back of the Panasonic Lumix CM1 is such a powerful thing to watch. With 10mm f/2.I lens, the device has the moat technically capable camera compared to any phone manufactures anywhere.

Despite its great functions, would you still wish to have such device placed over the likes of iPhone and HTC or LG G series? The reality is that the company (Panasonic) had announced the CM10 that rather than being the Android phone competing with the latter, the updates version CM1 is actually stripped off its android functionality and made an ultra-connected Android camera with LTE capability.

That being said, the most visible changes in those two devices means the new functions. Considering that the CM10 has the same 15mm thick (21mm at the lens) body with a 4.7 inch 1080oixel display, its 2Gigabyte of RAM, it’s 16 Gigabyte of storage, a snapdragon 801 processor…that’s a great thing though.

Panasonic suggests using the CM10 with data and text-only SIM cards for convenient photo sharing.

As cool as it is, the basic functions of the Camera phone is just an omnivorous adhesion to the new mission of advanced technology. Selling for about $850 the CM1) isn’t really sensible to be bought over better devices

But Panasonic knows the market for the “communication camera,” as it’s described, is very much a niche one — the company says it will produce just 500 units a month. If you think you’re in that niche, make plans to be in Japan on February 25th, when the CM10 goes on sale.
