The smartphone landscape is very dynamic and highly competitive with rival smartphone makers wanting to be the first at inventing something an while we’ve had about the under-display selfie camera in the past, there is actually no production smartphone officially sporting this hardware specification but that might change soon based on a new rumor.
The Nokia 9.3 PureView flagship might be one of the earliest adopter of this technology and by the way, the device had always been about cameras and resolutions anyway so it wouldn’t be anything new.
HMD Global, the company using the Nokia brand name is planning on making a PureView with the under display selfie camera later on by the end of Q3 2020.
According to a report gotten online, the Finnish company is tipped at equipping the device with what it calls the PureDisplay V3 which is expected to bring in an enhanced PureDisplay feature and a high 120Hz refresh rate to the device. The feature is also almost confirmed to arrive on the smartphone, claims the new report.
The report further stated that HMD Global was testing under display selfie camera technology along with pop-up selfie camera. The company is reportedly found the under display camera tech to be stable enough to make it available on its upcoming flagship.
In other reports, other big specifications of the Nokia PureView includes a large 108MP primary sensor with a 64MP front-facing sensor while the the rear camera system is said to be made of five sensors altogether.
Cameras aside, the device will also get its power from the Snapdragon 865 chipset while running on a stock and unmodified Android. As relating the release date, it is tipped to be released later on by the end of Q3 which might be debutting along with the Nokia 7.3 but let’s wait and see what else Nokia’s got to offer in such a highly competitive smartphone landscape where innovations are developed regularly.
