Is Microsoft trying force us to use Bing through Outlook mobile app?

Microsoft is basically exploiting the contextual selection feature in Android not a big deal for real

Even though Google dominates the search market, Microsoft too has it’s own share which is the desktop operating system (Windows) but despite having the huge share in desktop operating systems, it’s search engine Bing is no where near Google and it currently stands at just 3% of total online searches through the internet. People don’t really care about Bing’s existence for real.

But it’s like Microsoft might have a sneaky way of getting you to use Bing through it’s Outlook mobile application as reported by Android Police. Users are said to have noticed the new option which allows them to “Search Bing” when they select a text just the same way Google has it too.

This feature was added to Android’s core functionality since Marshmallow which allows developers to add their own option to the menu which pops up whenever a set of words are selected. But there is a possibility that setting Microsoft Edge as your default browser might trigger this option.

Although there is nothing wrong with Microsoft trying to market it’s products to it’s potential users after all, Google do some weird stuffs sometimes as well right? But some people might think of it as begging spammy but I really have no problem with that.

Even though I barely use Bing search engine because there is nothing that can’t be found on Google right so why wasting the time to head to the middle of nowhere. But that might not be the case for everybody. Definitely there might be some die hard Microsoft fans out there who would ride or die with the company and put up with whatever product they put to the market.
