Yesterday, September 15th was all about the Apple‘s “Time Flies” event where the company unveiled one of it’s iconic product which has gotten into the hearts and hands of millions all around the world and yeah, the Apple Watch series 6.

The new device got some upgrades from the previous model which includes new colors and better hardware specifications to make it fit right better into what Apple is proposing, which is a device that can be great enough to be trusted for monitoring your health in all aspects.

The Apple Watch had been the leader of all smartwatches since it’s released and still remains at the top basically due to the unending list of features that the company adds up tot he device by each upgrade. While nothing really look different from the previous model, what’s interesting is the fact that the new device will sport some software upgrade which will be available on Wednesday September 16th.

It’s got a hot new chip which one of the important thing to note about the new Apple Watch series 6. Out what is even much more fascinating is the new Blood Oxygen monitor which can sound you alert for serious respiratory illness and that’s what we’ll expect from a high tech company during this period of COVID-19 which is a respiratory disease.

  • Release date: Order Sept 15/ships Sept 18
  • Price: From $399
  • New features: Blood Oxygen monitor, new colors, faster processor, Fitness+, new bands
  • New case colors: Aluminum blue, graphite, classic gold stainless steel, (Product)RED

Apple Watch 6 comes with a better processor

There is the new S6 processor built on to the new Apple Watch series 6 which allows the smartwatch function much better and faster while using lesser battery.

With the new upgrade, the device is about 20% faster than the previous model (Watch 5) and has a brighter always-on display also. But most of all, it uses lesser power thanks to the new WatchOS 7 and the chipset which sets it aside for speed and efficiency.

Apple Watch Series 6 blood oxygen monitor

This seems to be the topic of the day about the Watch 6, the inclusion of the Oxygen monitor sensor which allows the Watch 6 to monitor your respiration which is a needed tool during this time as the world fights the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.

The device can also help to detect underlying health issues like sleep apnea, anxiety and much more. The sensor only needs 6 seconds to measure your blood oxygen level and can record your leces in the backgrouhd while you sleep with the device on your wrist.

Combined with sleep tracking, an SpO2 sensor can have significant health benefits and help wearers get a broader overview of their general health and wellbeing.

There is a new hardware design

The new Apple Watch series 6 comes in more colors than we’ve ever anticipated with blue aluminum, classic gold stainless steel, graphite and Red all which are cool depending on the user’s needs.

But as usual, users will still be able to swap out the band for another color if you so wish. Just about purchasing as many colors of bands to match the design and then you’re golden.

Apple also did launched a number of watch bands to go along with the new Watch series and some new has launched a handful of brand new watch bands and some new versions of current models.

  • Solo loop: No clasp silicon loop that slips over the wrist. Comes in 7 colors
  • Braided solo loop: similar to the Solo Loop, but made from braided recycled yarn. Comes in 5 colors
  • New version of the Leather band
  • New Nike Watch band colors
  • New Hermes styles

New Watch faces

Of course what would you expect and with the new WatchOS 7 on here, there will be new watch faces that comes with it. The Apple watch that’ll support the new software update includes the Series 4 up to Series 6 while some watch faces won’t be available on 38mm and 42mm model of the Apple Watch.

  • GMT face - multiple time zones at once
  • Count Up face - timer
  • Cronograph pro face - tachymeter
  • Typograph face - new style of numbers
  • Artist collaboration - Geoff McFetridge
  • Memoji face - your favorite memoji with animations when you tap
  • Stripes face - multiple designs for sports, LGBTQ+, and even to match your outfit

Apple also noted new watchOS 7 custom watch faces for surfing, photography, and health care

Price of the Apple Watch Series 6?

It’s not going to be quite pricier this time around as the Watch Series 6 has the same price tag as the previous model, Watch 5 which has a starting price of about US$399 for the aluminum model with a sport band or sport loop.

But then the price increases by US$100 to get the GPS and Cellular model while US$699 gets you the Stainless steel model with the same band options

There is also no GPS-only stainless steel Apple Watch. The difference between Apple Watch Cellular vs. GPS isn’t too significant, but you should look into which one is right for you before making an unnecessary purchase because each purchase costs a premium asking price.

There is also the new Apple Watch Family Setup

In order to boost things u much better, Apple added the ability for people in a family to be able to use an Apple Watch without the need for an iPhone.

The feature is built to come on with the new WatchOS 7 and will work only from Watch Series 4 and above with Cellular network technology supports.

Apple Fitness+

Among the new services which Apple announced is the new Apple Fitness+ which will be available later on this year for US$9.99 per month or US$79.99 per year. But purchasing the new Watch Series 6 gets you a free 3 months worth of subscription to the service before you’ll be needing to pay in order to further enjoy the service.
