Android 10 update was first rolled out to Redmi 7A in China duing the first week of the month of June while the high-end variant, the Redmi 7 Pro got the update a few days later on. The new ones getting the update includes the Redmi Note 7 which happens to be the company’s first device with a 48MP camera as well as running a stable Android 10 update in China.
Xiaomi hasn’t been very kind to it’s entry-level smartphones this year despite the company always promising to keep devices updated until about three MiUI versions. Although the Chinese tech giant is really slow to take actions when it comes to updating, entry-level smartphones released as at 2019 are still using the older Android 9 Pie.
But some of them are now getting updated to the current and stable version of Android this month of June. As for the case of the Redmi Note 7 Android 10 update, it’s version number is V11.0.2.0.QFGCNXM while the global variant will have a different build by the time Xiaomi starts spreading the update globally.
If you’re in China, you should have also received your update because all of the Redmi 7 and Note 7 series have received the Android 10 OS update though other regions haven’t gotten their own updates just yet.
The next stop could be with the Redmi 8 and Note 8 series even though the latter has received the Android 10 update in some regions even though that isn’t universal whatsoever.
As usual, you can head over to the Settings app or just swiping down the notification center to access on the settings “cog” icon and then head to About phones and check on the availability by clicking on the software update to see if you’ve received the message.
