The Coronavirus pandemic will never be forgotten in the history of the world as one of the deadliest disease which sent everyone into the comfort of their home but thankfully, it happened in the 21st century which is a time when technology is in use by everyone around the globe.
With more than 60% of the world connected, the fact that people had to shelter in their home while running away from contracting/spreading the disease has allowed everyone to connect through the internet where everything now seems to be happening. One of the devastating effect of the pandemic is the loss of millions of jobs worldwide as companies deemed to be "non essential" are forced to shut down for more than a month leading to many people losing their jobs while others who couldn't be fired either got furloughed or got a big cut in their payments.
The sales of numerous consumer products such as TVs and even smartphones had declined as big tech companies like Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi all took the blows caused by the health crisis.
Apart from this, other events had to be put on hold. For example, sporting events in many European countries were halted even though some countries are beginning to reopen partially like the German's Bundesliga is meant to resume this weekend (May 16th) others are still unknown. Even the Olympic Games (Tokyo 2020) is also to be put on hold or cancelled entirely.
The Mobile World Congress, Apple's WWDC 2020 and a host of other big tech events have now been moved virtually and will only take place over the internet only. Other interesting story about the pandemic this week includes Elon Musk reopening the Tesla's Fremont Plant against the local county's law of social distancing. Although he had made it known that the reopening will take into account serious health measures to ensure the safety of its workers.
Another big reopening includes the Disneyland in Shanghai which is now being opened but with mandatory use of face mask and social distancing measure still in place to ensure the safety of both visitors and workers at the resort.
As the world gradually reopens, the number of cases of the virus keeps climbing worldwide with millions of cases while tens of thousands are already dead due to the pandemic which is one of the greatest devastating pandemic in modern history. We share beautiful picture of people and the world as the world gradually reopens back.
