While GMS or Google Mobile Services are not going to be available on Huawei‘s devices, the company continues to release amazing smartphones to it’s international customers far from the Asian continent to other places including Europe and Africa. The news for Huawei enthusiasts in North America is that the Huawei P40 Pro will be release in Canada by July 10th.
Just a reminder, this is one of the best camera smartphone for the year 2020 and it offers immersive experience and everything you’d expect from a premium flagship device just as we saw with the previous Huawei P30 Pro released back in 2019. The device will be available at multiple carriers in both color Black and Silver Frost options in the North America market.
What’s even more interesting is the fact that Huawei is also adding up a free Watch GT2 and a 12 months subscription for 50GB Huawei cloud storage which is a way of Huawei trying to win back it’s long lost western market and even buying one of the limited-time launch offers will give you chance to participate in Huawei’s Next Image Awards to win about US$10,000. So this release in Canada will further cement Huawei P40 Pro back in the western market.
Just in case you forgot about the Huawei P40 Pro so soon, it’s a really powerful smartphone powered by the company’s own HiSilicon Kirin 9905G chipset with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage as well as chance to expand it with the company’s proprietary NM SD card which probably won’t become as popular due to the high price of the memory card and other reasons outside the scope of this post.
Moving forward to the display department, the Huawei P40 Pro sports a 6.58-inch OLED display which flows or curves around all edges of the device and it has under display fingerprint sensor, 90Hz refresh rate, dual front facing camera and four rear cameras.
Last but not least, it gets its power from a 4,200 mAh battery with support for 40W fast wired charging, 27W fast wireless charging, and 27W fast reverse wireless charging.
It’s powered by Huawei’s EMUI 10.1 built on top of the Android 10 (AOSP) which runs Huawei Mobile Service in place of the Google Mobile Service as well as AppGallery which takes the place of the Google Play Store. The smartphone isn’t the ultra-great smartphone but it sort of fits right well in the high-grade premium spectrum in 2020 which isn’t bad.
