In the world today, people are getting more exposed to robots which are getting more easy to access and afford, the chance of using this for abusive measures increases.
According to Federal Aviation Administration, there have been some evidences to prove just that.
It just posted an updated list of sighting reports that shows how less-than-responsible drone flights surged “dramatically” last year. According to those details, this shows that there were about 582 reports just between August 2015 and January 2016. This if combined with those 754 reports from November 2014 to that same August 2015 then the number will pile up higher. So it seems people are over using their new opportunities based on FAA reports.
Most of these reports are Pedestrian and the frequent sight of drones near a conventional aircraft is another major issue. In fact, those drone usually get too close according to observers as in 50 feet away in few cases. Although there haven’t been any report of collision with aircraft though but there have been a case of a pilot changing his course so as to avoid potential accident.
Although there are statistics that shows that drones are less likely to create serious problems.
But still, the sightings are only likely to fuel the FAA’s belief that it needs to regulate drone usage through registration and no-fly zones. In order not to create a chaotic situation involving crash, then those rules might need to be set to keep the check and balances up.
