Blue lights, they’re very bad for your eyes. That’s what scientists say as reports has it that this powerful color of light penetrates all the way to the retina which is an inner lining of the back of the eye and scientific studies have shown that too much of this can cause a damage to light-sensitive cells in the retina and with that, many manufacturers have been trying as much as possible to include special software that reduces the intensity of blue lights from smartphone displays for example. There are in fact third-party applications out there that allows reduces the blue light on your smartphone by making the display more brownish.

But Xiaomi as we know is a really daring company that usually take upon itself numerous tasks. The company had worked to create this bedside lamp which produces no blue light whatsoever and that makes it first in the world according to claims from the company.

The product is launched under the Youpi crowdfunding platform and its dubbed MidianZero-blu-ray Bedside Sleep Aid Lamp. The product is currently being crowdfunded for about US$28 with the actual price being US$46.

Midian Zero-blu-ray Bedside Sleep Aid Lamp

The device will make a great smart home product as it features an LED light source which is said to be developed by scientists from the Chinese Academy of Science of Nanchang University. The lamp itself uses a high-efficiency yellow LED as the core and red LED to achieve a phosphor-free, low color temperature pure LED light source.

This design is said to be different from the blue light filtering method adopted by similar products on the market. Instead, the Midian Zero-blu-ray Bedside Sleep Aid Lamp eliminates the use of blue light from the source and is entirely blue light free. Thus, will not harm the human eye structure, even for babies can stare at it.

Aside being zero blue light device, other interesting thing about the lamp is that it has a 2W rating as well as a 120.5W white LED lamp beads in it while the design appears to be very elegant by every means. The lamp can pair with the MIJIA product smart application with which you can control the device including the “Wake up” feature which allows you to set the daily wake-up time as well as music to play in the background as it supports the XiaoAI voice assistant.
