Vagina discharge( a mucus or pus- like stuff that comes out of the vagina)
All women normally have a small amount of vagina discharge which is clear, milky, or slightly yellow. If there is no itching or bad smell, then there isn’t no problem here.
But many women, especially the pregnant ones suffer from a discharge often accompanied with itching in the vagina. The discharge may be caused by various infections. Most of them could be problematic but wouldn’t be dangerous. Better still, an infection caused by Gonorrhea or Chlamydia can harm a baby at birth.
Below are few of the cases of vagina discharge which should be well managed using some home remedies and especially cleanliness.
#1. A thin and foamy, greenish-yellow or whitish, foul smelling discharge with itching:
This is probably an infection of Trichomonas. It may burn while urinating. Sometimes the genital feels hurt and or swollen. This discharge may contain blood at times. Treatment:
Since its very obligatory that the vagina is well kept clean, it is well done that said. Thus, a vagina wash or douche with warm water and distilled vinegar will help in such situation. In the absence of vinegar, the usage of lemon juice right inside of the water could make sense also.
Application For Douche
Use 6 reasons of: Vinegar in 1 litre of boiled and cooled water.
Do not douche in the last 4 weeks of pregnancy or for 6 weeks after you’ve given birth. I’d the discharge is troublesome, nystatin vaginal might be of help.
One can also use a clove of garlic as a vagina insert (Peel the garlic, wrap this in a piece of clean cloth or guaze and put into the vagina)
Use the douche 2 times during the day and each night insert a new clove of garlic. Do this for like 10 to 14 days.
If this is not working, you can use vaginal insert that contain metronidazole or other medication recommended for Truchomonas or simply take metronizadole by mouth.
that it is very likely that the husband or a woman with Trichomonas would have this same infection too even though he might not feel a thing (Although some men till have burning when urinating) If a woman is treated with metronidazole, her husband should also take it by mouth at the same time.
#2. White discharge that looks like cottage cheeze or buttermilk, smells Luke mold, mildew or like a baking bread:
This is likely to he a yeast infection (Moniliasis, Candida) itching may be very severe. The lips of the vagina often look bright red and feels hurt. It may be hurting to urinate. This infection is especially common in pregnant women or in those who are sick, diabetic or have been taking antibiotics or birth control pills.
Douche with vinegar water or dilute gentian violet, 2 parts gentian violet to 100 parts water. (2 teaspoon to a half liter) or use nystatin vaginal tablet or any other vaginal inserts for moniliasis or Candida. Putting unsweetened yogurt in the vaginal is said to be a useful home remedy to help control yeast infections. But really,
never use antibiotics for a yeast infection. They might make this worsened.
#3. Thick milky discharge with rancid smell:
This is likely to be an infection caused by bacteria. Special tests may be needed to tell this from a Trichomonas infection. Douche with vinegar water or with povidone-iodine (betadine 6 teaspoon in 1 liter of water) Also you can try inserting a clove if garlic every night for 2 weeks if none of the treatments works. Try metronidazole.
#4. Watery, brown or gray discharge, streaked with blood, bad smell, pain in the lower belly
These are signs of very serious infections or possibly cancer. if there is fever use antibiotics (if possible, ampicillin together with tetracycline) Better still,
go to the hospital immediately.
How women can avoid many infections
#1.) By keeping the genital area super cleaned up. When they bath, such area should be washed with mild soap.
#2.) Urinate after sexual contact. This help prevent urinary infections (But that won’t prevent pregnancy) though.
#3.) Be sure to clean yourself carefully after bowel movement. Always wipe from front to the back. Then wash out clean.
wiping forward would spread germs, amebas, worms into the urinary opening and vagina. Also, take care to wipe little girls butt from front to back and teach to do that the same And most importantly, wash up the entire area with clean water and or with soap.
The treatments and infection suggestions above shouldn’t serve or be seen as a substitute to medical care. Those are just assumptions. It might be better to see medical help in case of doubts. The doctor would use advanced technology to do medical checks on you.
