Almost every smartphone maker out there now owns a line of True wireless earbuds and that is the trend. While this is a more comfortable way of having a better audio experience, other big tech companies have ditched their headphone jack for completely wireless earbuds.
Since the market is currently on the rise so is the demand of chipsets to make better earbuds with low latency. The Apple‘s AirPods might be among the top, there are definitely hundreds of other affordable earbuds on the market today all which offer really high quality audio experience altogether for users.
Research showed a slow in sales of TWS earbuds earlier this year as more users turned away to focus on the purchase of devices such as Computers and Notebooks to work from home or TVs and other entertainment gadgets but as the world slowly creep back to normalcy, people’s attention seems to be shifting back to where it was before.
The rise of the TWS is surging once again and this demands that OEMs better be prepared with much better products which resonates far better with users than ever. The likes of the Apple’s next-gen AirPods is also said to be on the verge of release later on this year all which makes sense.
But for real, the TWS might not be the direct replacement to traditional headphone jack at least not for now but the fact remains that TWS earbuds have come to stay and also have found their own ground among enthusiast who prefer wireless connectivity.
One of the biggest advantage of this is the audio output which includes the likes of IP rating making them easy to use for work out and exercises. With different TWS earbuds comes different designs all which seems to be better for different situations.
Active Noise Cancellation or ANC is one of the biggest plus to earbuds such as the AirPods which simply fend off ambient noises around you. While majority of cheaper earbuds doesn’t have this feature they use their eartip to create a tightened lock which serves as noise isolation preventing ambient noises around you from distracting your audio experience altogether.
The request for TWS earbuds in the market today is pushing OEMs to further increase their manufacturing power as well as using powerful chipsets to enhance experience. Key components such as RF SoCs, power charging MCUs and MEMs microphones are just part of the surges in demand.
According to IndiaTimes, Realtek Semiconductor is said to be ramping up production for its RF SoC’s in the third-quarter of the year 2020 and it’s also revealed that almost half of all Realtek’s shipments of Bluetooth chips were meant for TWS applications.
Similarly, MEMS microphone technology is also becoming increasingly popular in the market due to its use in ANC, with ZillTek Technology benefitting the most.
It definitely won’t be a thing of surprise if in the nearest future we get to see much more interesting TWS earbuds from more smartphone OEMs around the globe in general.
