Xiaomi continues to disrupt the smartphone market with its unending list of cool products and the newest from the Chinese the giant is a 100W wireless charging dock which it calls Mi 100W Wireless Charging Stand.
This device is everything great about a Xiaomi product as well as making Android devices interesting in 2021. The original wireless charging stand initially had an 80W wireless charging capacity and it was unveiled back in March and now, everything had been maxed out to the bleeding edge.
Features of the Xiaomi Mi 100W Wireless Charging Stand
It offers a pretty great job at ensuring ultra-fast charging capacity and so it will make every Xiaomi device that supports it charge up in the snap of a finger. Compared to the Mi 80W wireless charger, the new Mi 100W wireless charger has a slightly different color and a safety layer to dock your smartphone easily. The newer model comes in black color with a gold accent, whereas the older model sports a white color paint job with a silver accent.
It’s designed to let your smartphone be placed either in a vertical or horizontal orientation and everything can then get charged up as quickly as possible. Gone are the days when you’ll need to basically use the wireless charging only at night and expect a fully charged device by the morning. This improvement means that you can expect the same speed that you would normally expect on a wired charger with a high-speed charge.

One big concern for most consumers though is the impact super-fast chargers have on batteries as well as the long-term effects on their lifespan. One good thing about most modern smartphones is that they often stop power from reaching the battery once the battery is full-charged up and with that, you can expect to still maintain a good battery even after a couple of years.
One interesting thing is the fact that Xiaomi doesn’t even have any device that can charge at that extreme speed just yet. Maybe their next flagship will feature this extreme charging capacity, time will tell.
Anyway, the Mi 100W Wireless Charging Stand bears model number MDY-13-EL, while the Mi 80W Wireless charging Stand comes with model number MDY-13-ED. The former has an additional protection layer of current calibration other than over-current protection, over-voltage protection, under-voltage protection, over-temperature protection, foreign body detection, and electrostatic protection.
The new Mi 100W Wireless Charging Stand features a dual-coil design and a dynamic fan that help to cool your device down while charging. The fan runs quietly and it works when things are getting a little bit hot.
The charging uses the Qi standard which is popular among mainstream smartphones with wireless charging capabilities.
Also do note that only the Mi 11 Pro, Mi Mix 4, and Mi 11 Ultra can be charged up using the “Ultra-Fast Wireless Charging Mode”. With that, anyone using either of these devices can charge them up at a max speed of nearly 67W which is cool.
Now take the Mi Mix 4 as an example with its 4,500mAh battery and its ability to charge at 50W. Xiaomi claimed the device can charge up from 0% to 100% within 28 minutes using the new Mi 100W wireless charging stand.
How much is the Xiaomi Mi 100W Wireless Charging Stand
The device will cost about CN¥599 ($92) in China and sales are expected to start as soon as August 16th at 10 AM. And as for international markets, there isn’t any news as to when Xiaomi will be releasing this device to other markets across the globe.
