There have been reports about the Huawei P40 series taking on the newly-released Galaxy S20 series. With the P40-Lite recently announced, despite being a mid-range smartphone, it features the Kirin 810 Chipset which is a mid-tier SoC while the high-end P40, P40 Pro and the P40 Pro Premium Edition are expected to come with high-end specifications that will make them even more powerful and interesting for a 2020 premium device.
The official launch date for the P40 series is scheduled to March 26 and it’s expected to be the global unveiling of the device. Meanwhile just a month ahead of the launch, the Huawei P40 and P40 Pro smartphones have received 3C certifications in China.
Model numbers of the Huawei P40 was revealed to being ANA-AN00 and ANA-TN00 which according to the 3C listing revealed to being a 5G smartphone and will ship with a 22.5W fast charger
And then there is the ELS-AN00 and ELS-TN00 phone that will reportedly debut as Huawei P40 Pro is a 5G device that may ship with 40W rapid charger.

TENAA telecom authority have approved the devices but the full and official specs list of the P40 series is yet made public. But the rumored Huawei P40 Pro Premium Edition is yet to receive 3C and TENAA certifications.

The Huawei P40 Series are expected to come with the latest Android 10 OS with the EMUI 10.1 built on top of it. Also, both devices are expected to come with a dual-hole punch for the selfie camera and then in-display fingerprint readers.
As for the actual display, the Huawei P40 is expected to sport a 6.1 to 6.2-inch OLED display while the P40 Pro is expected to have a much larger 6.5 to 6.7-inch OLED display. Both devices may sport 32-megapixel + 8-megapixel dual selfie camera setup.
Unlike the P40 Lite, these high-end devices will have a much bigger Kirin 990 5G chipset which will power up the device’s functionalities.
Rear cameras of the P40 (the Non Pro) are still going to be made by Leica and could be a triple setup with the primary sensor being a 52MP coupled with a 40MP Cine Ultrawide lens and then a smaller 8MP telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom.
While the much larger P40 Pro is expected to come with a quad rear camera setup which will include a 52-mgeapixel main sensor, a 40-megapixel cine ultrawide lens, a periscope lens and a 3D ToF sensor. The specifications of the P40 Pro PE are not known yet. However, a leaked render of the device had revealed that it will be equipped with a penta-lens camera setup after all, it’s a “Pro-Premium Edition”
Pricing is yet unknown but it would be anywhere between $700 and $999 and the “Premium Edition” could peak $1000 based on few extra features that will make it more powerful.
