Technology is heading to a different dimension whereby everything is becoming foldable at an alarming rate. From smartphones like the Huawei Mate X, Galaxy Fold or Royole FlexiPai to the new Visionox which believes a rollable smartphone is the next way to go.
According to a report gotten from GizmoChina, Visionox wants to make an extraordinary device that won’t only hype it’s brand but also follow the futuristic tech trend. Based on a glimpse gotten during the just concluded World Conference in the Display Industry, the device actually looked futuristic.
The event where the Visionox Clamshell phone and other rollable screens were unveiled took place in Hefei, Anhui Province of China which was a three-days long event. The rollable screens all featured AMOLED panels giving them a truly vivid color grading that is realistic in every sense.

What Visionox really wanted to deal with is the amount of spaces taken up by screens which the company believes it’s rollable screens will solve. The device debuts with a dynamic curl radius of 7mm and features on-cell touch display integration technology as well as self-lamination.

Despite so much to showcase, it’s very obvious this is just the beginning of the tech revolution as there is room for maturity. The demo unit at the event was still in the form of the raw display and not installed on a smartphone. It’s worth adding that companies like BOE and LG Display have demoed rollable panels in the past.
