Chinese mid-range smartphone maker Tecno is onto some next-level tech with its new Camon 19 Pro Mondrian.
The original Camon 19 Pro was announced back in June at the Rockeeller Center in New York. The device came in two color options back then but as the company expands into other markets such as India, the region is getting a third color option.
Back to the “high-tech” stuff, the new Camon 19 Pro Mondrian is the company’s first with multiple color-changing aesthetics on its back.
The design of the device follows the abstract paintings of Pier Mondrian who happens to be one of the most popular artists back in the 20th century.

The Camon 19 Pro Mondrian uses polychromatic photoisomer technology which allows the monochrome cover to show multiple colors under different lighting imitating Mondrian’s rejection of visually perceived reality as subject matter.
Then there are thick lines and straight angles which follow the artist’s idea to restrict forms to the most basic elements while different colors come with different meanings.
The Camon 19 Pro design is not so complicated – different rectangles show different hues of blue and purple after exposure to sunlight. The product is done after “rigorous crafting” of 22 steps and 500 iterations of testing.
The design aesthetics of the device is quite new and would ultimately fill in the gap for those who just want a third option apart from those released earlier.
While the outward look of the device is pretty different, the internal components of the device are pretty similar to the base “Pro” model with hardware components such as an Helio G96 processor, a 64MP primary sensor with RGBW sensor, and a 50MP 2x portrait sensor. The camera also has both OIS and EIS support as well as HDR.
The Mondrian edition of this LTE-only Camon 19 Pro is the first variant Tecno introduces in India. The price is INR17,999 and pre-booking will begin on September 22 on Amazon.
