The new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is said to be the most “usable” foldable smartphone in 2021 and that’s because Samsung upgraded a lot of the device’s hardware to make it much more practical for an average consumer.
Aside from the fact that the device now offers an IPX8 rating, it is also quite cheaper than its predecessor while packed with tons of features that signal the demise of the Galaxy Note series.
The device even has the experimental under-display front-facing sensor which is still in its infancy.
Overall, this is a pretty decent piece of hardware with upgraded software that utilizes every bit of the device’s hardware turning it into the perfect tool for anyone that needs to get things done on the go.

1. Z Fold 3 in Phantom Silver
Galaxy Z Fold 3 comes in three color options and the Phantom Silver is just one of them

2. Durable Hardware
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is becoming more practical with each update and that’s one fascinating thing about the device. Hopefully the next-gen will be more amazing and cheaper.

3. Powerful display
The outer screen of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is a 6.2-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate.

4. Better Hinge
The hinge on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 continues to get better with every update and that’s a good thing.

5. Better design aesthetics
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 with or without a casing? I guess they all look amazing.

6. Bottom speaker and charging port
Galaxy Z Fold 3 has a better speaker this time around compared to the previous Z Fold 2. Now you also get a USB-C port at the bottom of the device but sorry….no headphone jack for real.

7. Can fold in many ways
The powerful hinge allows for multiple folding modes

8. Quite pricey though
The Phantom Silver is pretty beautiful and all of the devices come with a matte finish making them have that premium look and feel you would expect from an US$1800 foldable smartphone

9. Better triple rear camera setup
The new Galaxy Z Fold 3 comes with a triple rear camera setup just like the previous model just that this time around, Samsung redesigned the camera module and despite people thinking the design of the camera module may look similar to the Galaxy S21 series, Samsung did in fact changed things a bit.

10. Look at it, isn’t it beautiful?
Yes, it is!

11. Built tough! Like a Ford
The outer screen of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is now better than the previous generation as it features a 120Hz Super AMOLED panel. In short, the aspect ratio is pretty cool for a 6.2-inch display. Also, it’s protected by the Gorilla Glass Victus which is, even more, scratch-resistant compared to the previous Gorilla Glass 6

12. Multiple colors to chose from
There is the Phantom Green, Phantom Black, and Phantom Silver all of which have a matte finish. While I personally love the Phantom Black, the Phantom Green is also pretty unique.

13. Familiar design, similar features.
Not so much has changed with the new generation compared to the previous generation. Although the device has shrunk a bit and tightened much more, it still picked most of its design aesthetics from its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 2.

14. Galaxy S Pen Pro support
There is the S-Pen Pro which is bigger and has some cool features. One of them is the fact that you can literally toggle between normal mode and Z Fold mode which will soften the tip of the stylus to make it easy on the fragile display of the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

15. Prolly the Note killer
Galaxy Z Fold 3 supports the S-Pen though Samsung continues to stress that users shouldn’t use a third-party stylus as it may ruin the display.

16. An under-display selfie camera?
Samsung has decided to experiment with things thanks to the implementation of the under-display selfie camera on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in order to give you the entire 7.6-inch display without any hole-punch cut-out or notch.

17. Snapdragon powered, no cheating!
Powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset with 12GB of RAM. You won’t expect anything called lag on this device especially with its high-refresh display at 120Hz.

18. Decent selfie camera
The selfie camera on the hole-punch cut-out of the display is very cool and can capture some cool pictures in low-light.

19. Great display tech
This is a multi-tasking tool. The large display will make it easy for anyone to swap things around on the device. At least being able to run multiple apps at the same time and so much more are part of the premium price you’ve paid for the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

20. Galaxy Z Fold 3 supports S-Pen
Did I mention that the new Galaxy Z Fold 3 now supports the S-Pen that was only limited to the Note series back in the day. While the line between the Note series and other Samsung smartphones continue to blur, the fact that the Note has a permanent dock built within the device itself to house the S-Pen makes it more natural compared to the integration with others such as the Galaxy S21 Ultra or the new Galaxy Z Fold 3.
