Salesforce announced on Tuesday that it will be integrating the successful ChatGPT generative AI into its collaboration software, Slack in its ongoing partnership with OpenAI.
The company said it would combine its proprietary AI system along with other third-partner partners including OpenAI in order to create a super AI that can be used in its software services such as Slack in order to help businesses generate email drafts, customer-account information, and computer codes if necessary.
The integration is also intended to help users summarize conversation threads and handle queries.
The integration according to Salessforce’s general manager Clara Shih is that their corporate clients want such integration in their collaborative software services including Slack.

She said Salesforce’s proprietary data and AI models would help differentiate its offering. Salesforce’s generative AI tools would help companies “completely reimagine how they engage with their customers,” she said.
This is just another case of big tech companies vying to integrate generative AI into their businesses. The success of this new technology has been instrumental to many businesses both big and small where content can be generated after a user input some data.
One of the top companies championing the integration of generative AI is Microsoft which integrated ChatGPT into its Bing search engine. This was also the result of the partnership Microsoft has with the AI developer, OpenAI.
Salesforce also announced a fund to invest in generative AI startups in the future.
