ASUS’s ROG Phone 6 and 6 Proare now available in North America after an initial debut in Europe and the UK.
The gaming smartphone comes with a lot of high-end specifications including the current Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset combined with a minimum of 12GB of RAM and a blazing-fash 165Hz refresh rate and a 2448 x 1080p screen resolution.
The base model is expected to come with a US$999 price tag and will be equipped with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage while the high-end “Non-Pro” version will get a US$1,099 price tag while getting a RAM bump to 16GB and a 512GB of internal storage.

Both models (Pro and non-Pro) will sport a big 6.78-inch OLED panel that has support for HDR10+ technology.
The ROG Phone 6/6Pro will also come in either black or white color options. The design of the device needs no introduction as it’s ridden with numerous gimmicks and RGB LEDs to give it that gaming and aggressive look and feel.
Apart from the great design and unending list of the device’s specifications, the ROG Phone 6 also includes a number of interesting accessories to accompany the device such as its dedicated controller and an active cooling system for intense gaming.
There is also the ROG Kunai 3 gamepad that mimics the Nintendo’s Joy-Con controllers for the Switch mobile game console.
One can either make use of the controller as a standalone system or just attach it to the ROG Phone 6.
The Kunai 3 has all the same inputs you’d find on your standard dual analog stick controller, in addition to a pair of back paddle inputs. The Kunai 3 is currently available through the ASUS storefront for $149.99.

Another peripheral accessory for the ROG Phone 6 series is the AeroActive Cooler 6 which is essentially a large, RGB-enabled heatsink that attaches to the back of the device.
The design is quite similar to the heatsink used for desktop CPUs and has a number of thermally conductive surfaces in order to efficiently disspate heat through a cooling fan.
The cooler is powered using a USB-C connection from the ROG Phone 6 and can be adjusted by the user to any level of desired cooling.
The AeroActive cooler is priced at $149.99 and comes with a built-in kickstand and RGB lighting, but it’s unclear as to whether it can be used in conjunction with the ROG Kunai 3 gamepad.
