Oppo too is trying to compete in the smart AR and VR wear industry with its new Air Glass. The smart assisted reality or AR wearable device comes with a tiny projector on one side of the device to show you routes or direct person-to-person translation captions whenever you speak.
The new smart device is also equipped with other interesting features such as a monocle snap-on that can attach quickly onto its thin frame.
Speaking of the size of the projector, it’s the size of a coffee bean and Oppo calls it “our self-developed spark micro projector” due to its extra tiny size.
Oppo Air Glass features
Oppo Air Glass offers “four intuitive methods of interaction – touch, voice, hand gestures, and head movements,” with which you can navigate not only the smart eyewear’s features directly, but also link it to a smartwatch or phone.

The device internal is powered by the Snapdragon Wear 4100 Platform chipset and the OPPO Air Glass includes optical diffraction waveguide that gives you 16-level or 256-level grayscale display modes with about 1400 nits brightness for better outdoor visibility.
While this isn’t your gateway into the metaverse, you can use this in scenarios such as turn-by-turn navigation.
The fact that it can also be used for a direct person-to-person translation while you speak will probably make you appear cooler than you actually are.
Oppo’s smart eyewear also has useful apps like Weather, Calendar, Health, or Teleprompter it can project while you have it on.
According to a report, the Oppo Air Glass AR will be released with Chinese-English translation options first before other languages are added to the pack.
The eyewear will also be available in black and white colors as the release is said to be slated for Q1 2022. The asking price is yet to be rumored, let alone announced officially.
