The updates to the WatchOS 7 was rolled out just last week and it’s meant to support the Watch Series 3 and above but it turns out that those who uses the older Apple smart watch are having issues as the device’s hardware is simply incapable of the new WatchOS 7 update at least based on users’ complaints.
Some users who were excited to try on the new operating system’s upgrade have been complaining about the issues they had to face after installing the update with some stating that their device shuts down abruptly more than three times with other issues being complications with watch faces and also the device rebooting multiple times.
Also there are other complaints about the device’s battery draining so fast that a user stated he got just 50% under 8 hours when it would usually be about 80% prior to the update on his Watch Series 3.
“My series 3 completed an auto update overnight to Watch OS7. Today it has shut itself down at least 3 times, locked itself while on my wrist about 4 times, failed to load complications on multiple faces (weather, activity rings, date etc), disconnected from my phone at least twice. It has also dropped to less than 50% battery in about 8 hours, normally it is still in the 80’s. Is anyone else having these issues? This has been the buggiest upgrade I have seen,” one user wrote on Apple’s support page.

And as usual, Apple had rolled up an updated version of the new Apple WatchOS which is version 7.0.1 earlier this week which is meant to fix these issues meanwhile it’s fixes isn’t universal as some users still complained about their issues not totally gone even with the update.
The worst is the fact that users cannot go back to older models (downgrading) the software back to WatchOS 6 on the device which was launched three years ago (2017) and has been one of the company’s top selling smartwatch and the company continues to sell the product worldwide despite being three years old showing how influential the product-line is.
There’s no word on when Apple will roll out a fix for these bugs and problems.
