Things that come along with a boatload unlock include voiding your warranty, ousting the Samsung’s Knox security suite as well as kissing Samsung Pay bye-bye forever.
Those setbacks get multiplied when you try unlocking the bootloader on your Galaxy Z Fold 3 because your camera function could be gone completely as well.
A new report posted by XDA Developers shows that the final confirmation screen during the bootloader unlocks process on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 says that the operation will lead to the device’s numerous cameras will be disabled.
And if you’re adamant with an extra US$1,800 to throw away, confirming that step will ultimately deactivate the device’s cameras.

In fact, not only will the camera software cease operation, any application or service that requires the camera hardware will quit working altogether.
But instead of throwing the expensive foldable smartphone into the dustbin and calling it a day, the issue is said to have been addressed with the second One UI 4 beta update reported by an XDA senior member with the name exocetdj.
With the new release, all cameras now work including apps that make use of the camera hardware.
While that is good news, it’s not globally good news yet because the fix is said to only work in certain regional variants of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 with the model numbers F926B and F926N – maybe you should check your device’s model number very well before going that route.
