The biggest advantage of owning a master remote control is the fact that you get to use just a single remote for multiple devices rather than hauling around different remote control however, the bad news is that Logitech, the company that made the Harmony universal remote will be discontinuing the production of this universal remote according to a statement released by the tech firm last Friday.
Even though the production will not be continued, the company made it known that it will still be available for purchase from various retailers at least for some times.
And as for the owners of the Harmony universal remote, Logitech stated it will continue to support the device which is still a good news for existing users just that you don’t want it broken.
“We plan to support our Harmony community and new Harmony customers, which includes access to our software and apps to set up and manage your remotes,” the peripherals maker said in a post on its support site. “We also plan to continue to update the platform and add devices to our Harmony database. Customer and warranty support will continue to be offered.”

One of the reasons Logitech might be stepping away from the production of this device is due to the fact that modern connected devices can be controlled solely via a smartphone which is a good thing.
