HTC Vive is making sense right now as its sold 15,000 units within its first 10 minutes on (pre order) sale. The company who had earlier announced the launch date for the sales and set the price is probably having a good start for the introduction of the virtual reality headset as pre order began.
There’s no barometer yet for VR sales figures
Although its not totally easy to know how many figures HTC might be placing in their pocket right bow but these are first ViVe’s pre-order which means lots of thousands have waited for this and probably rushing to make their order for the headsets. As the case may be, Vice costs $799 and requires a high end gaming PC so its really available for advanced gaming PCs then.

You can’t expect HTC to have iPhone-like preorder figures.
The device has had a quiet good response anyway and its pretty cool for everyone to use and or at least try using. The headset doesn’t go on full sales until April 5th which might place the Vice behind Oculus Rift VR scheduled for 28th of March. The Oculus Rift on the other hand stands firmly as a nice rival to the HTC vice and in early January had been selling for lesser price $599. Oculus hasn’t released their own sales figures hut company Co-Founder Palmer Luckey mentioned some days back
“Preorders are going much better than I ever could have possibly expected.”
Those words could mean a good start for the company and hopefully have a better than expected type of sales during launch.
