Despite sales of the Honor Brand, the company still relies a bit on its former parent company Huawei as it prepares its Honor 20 and 20 Pro smartphones for the Magic U.I 4.0 which is based on the EMUI 11 (Android 10).
As of now, the EMUI 11 update is already made available on a number of Huawei devices via a stable channel. With the Honor 20 series ready for the update, those with the devices can grab the new software on their Honor 20 series.
Even though Huawei sold off all its share in Honor, it still support the models it helped manufacture back in 2018 and 2019 which is why these devices are getting the new update.
The Magic UI 4.0 is said to be available across the globe for both the Honor View 20 and the Honor 20 series. The update carries version number 11.0.0.138 and it’s about 1.84GB in size.

The update is based on the older Android 10 OS but still brings about some cool user interface with newer features such as multi-window mode, Always on Display styles and collaborative note editing and so much more.
The roll-out though it’s global will still be in batches which means some regions might receive before the other. Huawei had continue to build up its ecosystem with different services like the Huawei Music which is a paid music streaming service.
The company had also replaced almost every single Google service via its Huawei Mobile Service and that includes the Petal search and the Huawei App Gallery which is reportedly on 530 million devices across the globe.
And as for the new Magic UI 4.0 update, user can get the update via an OTA release and if no critical issue come up, more and more devices will get the update.
If you own the Honor 20, Honor 20 Pro, or Honor View 20, keep an eye out for the Magic UI 4.0 OTA notification.
Since the company is only offering limited access to the new software, it’s safe to say that it’ll be quite a while before the update hits all the devices out there.
For those who are yet to receive the update prompt, you can always check via the phone settings and software update to check if you’ve received the update.
