Nothing isn’t yet going directly against big players in the smartphone industry such as Apple or Samsung but a predecessor to the Phone (1) will be getting a big leap ahead of its official release.
Based on a new post by a Qualcomm executive via LinkedIn showed the Nothing Phone (2) will be getting an upgraded Snapdragon 8+ Geen 1.
You might be disappointed by that because that was 2022’s technology, however, this is an upgrade over the previous Phone (1)’s Snapdragon 778G+ chipset which was featured mostly on mid-range smartphones.
Alex Katouzian who serves as Qualcomm SVP and GM of the Mobile, Compute, and XR units issued a post on the professional networking platform to congratulate Nothing on the upcoming Phone (2) launch and explicitly named the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset powering the device.

Even though the original post has since been edited to exclude the exact chipset that will potentially power the forthcoming device, the post eventually showed that the Phone (2) will in fact be powered by a Snapdragon 8 series.

Unless the first post was an error and the device would be powered by the current Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 which would immensely affect the price of the device unless Nothing is not really seeking to make profits on its smartphone lineup just yet.
The previous Nothing Phone (1) was a true flagship killer as it featured everything you’d expect on a premium-tier device such as a solid build quality, glass front and back, and OLED display among other interesting features and specs. The device is well enough delivered and many love the device, especially its unique GLYPH light.
