Wireless earbuds are the new phenomenon and many consumers all around the world are accommodating this. With the likes of Apple AirPods, Galaxy Buds and forth. The fact that smartphone makers are now dumping the 3.5mm headphone jack for Bluetooth wireless buds is why many companies making this tiny devices to step up their games.
Bowers & Wilkins are one of those and just this year, the company had updated it’s headphone models while introducing new ones which are neckband earbuds. These devices has in-ear active noise cancellation technology that makes it more amazing. The new products are Neckband-style earbuds.
Comparing this device to the Beats X with this device might be a little bit of an overate because the Bowers & Wilkins BI3 is an entry-level earphone. The device has the aptX Adaptive support which is considered as the first of it’s kind. Another thing on the specs list is that the PI3 contains to drivers as well as separate amplifiers which can produce much more high quality sound while comfortably seated in your ears.

Listening to music with this device is very clear and great. To make a better impression, an extensive array of songs would be tried out to see how the sound quality really is. Meanwhile the device offers a really accurate sound quality.

Surprisingly, as these are the variant without noise cancelling tech, ambient sound seemed well isolated too – a least in a busy, crowded room. We’ll also have to test them on a Tube or other loud mode of transport, but it seems that as long as you choose your earbud well, you shouldn’t have to turn up the audio to extreme levels to hear it clearly.

And speaking about the build quality of the Bowers & Wilkins PI3, it’s made out of flexible silicone materials and has aluminium backs on the earpieces which helps it’s magnets to keep it together so they don’t dangle and collide with each other while you’re merely wearing them around your collar. Also, there is a tiny loop at the top of each ensures that they stay in your ears while working out or running.
As for the water/dust resistance, there isn’t any official IP Rating for water and dust written on the box but there are sweat resistance which is good when you’re working out. This prevent your body sweat which can damage electronics to have no effects on the device.
Battery life is said to be great. You will get nearly 8 hours of uninterrupted music play while it also offer fast charging through USB-C which gives two hours for just 15 minutes of charging all which is based on the hands on review with the device.
Bowers & Wilkins has never really been known for entry-level headphones before, especially as competitively priced as the PI3. It is sold for $199.99 and could be a bit of a rival to the Beats X and other bigger players in the game though still at the entry level. The Bowers & Wilkins superior audio quality offered by this device makes it really outstanding and shows the company not forgetting it’s signature powerful audio.
