Apple unveiled a number of interesting products on Wednesday among which is its AirPods Pro (2022) which comes with some feature upgrades while maintaining the design aesthetics of the previous model.
During the Wednesday “Far Out” event, Apple announced the AirPods Pro (Gen 2) featuring its H2 chip which the company promises will offer an improved audio output quality and better noise cancellation.
According to the company’s claims, the H2 chip will allow the AirPods Pro (2022) to cancel up to twice as much noise compared to the previous model.
Another feature offered by the H2 chip is an improved Adaptive Transparency mode. The company also says the AirPods Pro has a new low-distortion audio driver and custom amplifier to enhance the device’s bass output as well as produce a crystal-clear sound across a wider range of frequencies.

Another addition to the device’s plethora of features is the ability to adjust the volume of the device with swipes on the AirPod Pro’s stem.
So instead of taking out your phone to increase/decrease audio volumes all the time, you can simple swipe up or down the earbuds stem and you’re good.
Another important upgrade is the battery life which has increased to six hours on a single charge even with ANC turned on. That is really amazing.
The device also comes with an improved charging case that offers Find My support and a built-in speaker that makes it easy to track the charging case in case of misplacement.
Also, the case can now be charged on a Qi or MagSafe charger as well as the ability to charge the case on an Apple Watch charger.
The case is also now sweat and water-resistant and there’s a loop that allows the attachment of a lanyard in case you want another way to carry it around.

As for the price tag, the new AirPods Pro (2022) costs about US$249 (the same price as the base Watch SE with GPS) and order is expected to commence as soon as Sept. 9th while availability will be by Sept. 23rd.
The updated AirPods Pro will also come with new extra-small ear tips, which could be a better fit for some ears.

If you remember, the previous model was announced back in Oct. 2019 and it was an instant success paving the way for Apple to dominate the TWS earbuds market.
The design of the device remains the same with the internal components being swapped out for better and updated ones. That should continue the commercial success of the device still.
