During the Galaxy Unpacked 2020, one thing we never got was a Galaxy Fold Lite smartphone making us wonder if the South Korean tech giant is ever planning to release it. But a new Wi-Fi alliance certification showed what is thought of to being the Galaxy Fold Lite for real and that will be interesting if it’s ever true.

This is it, a new Samsung device model was recently certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance which has the model number SM-F415F/DS but the model isn’t known. What we thought of the model name is that to being a Galaxy Fold smartphone because of the fact that the Galaxy Fold line up do have the model number F90 while the Z Flip has the number F700.

But then you might wonder where the SM-F415F/DS model falls in. If we’re to look at the numbering, the lower unit might place the device at the Lite version model due to the F400 model number.

It’s been since last year that rumors have been swirling throughout the internet as to whether Samsung will release the Galaxy Fold Lite a a follow up to the much expensive Fold device but that was never the case and we still expected it this year but well we got a Z Fold 2.

Still on the model numbering, the “1” in the number is said to denote the second-generation model with reference to the Galaxy Z Fold 2 which has the F91 while the Z Flip has only the F70x.

That could mean the device isn’t a second generation because it already carried the F41 number but that’s it about the speculation. The WiFi Alliance certification also shows thgat the device will not have support for WiFi 6 which could hint the fact that the Lite won’t come with premium features as its rumored to be sold in the US$1000 price range.
