Huawei continues to be ousted from the western’s telecommunication market and that is the case wit the UK Telecom operations who will no longer install any new 5G equipment from the Chinese tech giant starting from September 2021. This announcement was made earlier on Monday as the UK plan to remove other Huawei 5G infrastructure from the country.
The process of total removal of all Huawei telecommunication equipments had been ordered by the the UK pgovernment by th year 207 based on securityt grounds and also based on recommendations from the UK intelligence agencies.
China on the other hand wasn’t very pleased with this move and criticized the UK government for this which was the same thing the US government did.
The announcement today arrives just before a debate, which will be over new telecom laws in the parliament that will map the timeline for the removal of Chinese equipment from the infrastructure. According to Digital Minister, Oliver Dowden, “I am setting out a clear path for the complete removal of high risk vendors from our 5G networks. This will be done through new and unprecedented powers to identify and ban telecoms equipment which poses a threat to our national security.”

The British government however unveiled its plans to further diversify it’s 5G supply chain which is supposed to cosist of an initial 250 Million pounds investment. With this, the UK government will collaborate with NEC, a Japanese tech firm in order to carry out research facilities and other necessary things to ensure the progress of the 5G development in the country.
Huawei’s last bet is probably china and some parts of Africa which buys it’s 5G equipment to further expand the technology globally.
