GOOD NEWS! The UK Government has approved a COVID-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech to fight the coronavirus pandemic. Th roll out is expected to start by next week with British care home residents, older adults and health care workers being the first to be inoculated with the vaccines.
With reports from Pfizer stating the efficacy of the vaccine to be about 90% effective, it’s therefore getting rolled out in mass while the British government assured the general public about the safety of the vaccine having taken it through rigorous clinical trials with results analyzed by the national medicine regulator.
About 800,000 doses will be distributed to vulnerable people as early as next week, while the majority of the population will be vaccinated in the new year.
This vaccine is one of the many developed medications to fight off the spread of the coronavirus which has been spreading like a wildfire since the beginning of the year which has caused the loss of tens of thousands of lives.

The vaccine was made via the use of mRNA genetic materials which will help in fighting against the disease. British pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca also got a positive outcome with its vaccine which has a 90% efficacy and plan to push for mass production once it gets through the approval phase this year.
Concerning the vaccine, its meant to be stored in a temperature about 70 degree Celsius (-94 degree Fahrenheit) and its expected to be administered in hospitals until its suitable storage can be rolled out to other locations.
Moderna also came up with its own vaccine which stood chances of helping in combating the COVID-19 but awaits approval by the Food and Drug Administration which is expected to approve one or more of the treatments soon following in the UK’s footstep especially with a large number of cases being reported in the US daily.
The US is examining the Pfizer vaccine and a similar vaccine developed by Moderna. The US Food and Drug Administration is expected to follow the UK in approving one or more of the treatments soon.
Russia and China have already approved vaccines, but without large-scale testing.
