In an effort to combat fake news and misinformation, Twitter is now adding a new feature that will allow anyone to flag misleading content on the platform.
Currently, the feature is still in its test phase and will be tried in regions such as Brazil, Spain, and the Philippines.
The feature was first introduced as a pilot test back in August 2021 as part of its effort to combat misinformation on the service. Then tested it in the United States, Australia, and South Korea.
Ever since the first announcement was made about the feature, the social media company said it has received about 3 million reports from users who have used the feature to flag tweets they believe to have violated its policies.

But that isn’t the first attempt by Twitter as it has also launched another program called Birwartch back in 2021 which allows participants to write notes and provide additional context to misleading tweets even though these notes are held on a separate website, says a report.
