Many times, technology could have a very adverse effect in government. The same is happening to Japan as it’s starting to tear down wrecks of its Fukushima Dai-Ichi nuclear power plant. This type of process is assume to last from 30 – 40 tears before all is cleared out – Based on what the plant manager said.
it’s going to tackle the decommissioning of reactor 3, which was damaged by a hydrogen explosion during the plant’s meltdown in 2011.
The greatest problem posed is the Reactor 3 which is said to be filled with radiation which would be super dangerous for any human to work in.
Because of the risk that would pose, Toshiba is taking up the lead being the original builder of the Reactor 3. Toshiba would be using a powerful robot to do the clean ups rather tan humans as a more threat is posed on them.
On Monday, Toshiba opened the veils of its large remote-controlled robot which has two large crane-like arms that would help remove all the bundle of fuel rids right from the cooling pool of the Reactor 3.
The two arms aren’t just there for fashion. One helps the other. As one picks and cut on rods, the other hold them steadily.
This powerful machine would extract about 566 of its fuel rod bundles which are better known as “Assemblies” right from the reactor but that starts next year 2017.
Camera enhancement makes those controlling it to see where and how its going to be working
The Fukushima meltdown is said to have been the very worst of its kind if nuclear disaster since the Chernobyl explosion back in the 1986.
An earthquake-induced tsunami caused the meltdown of three reactors, which released radioactive materials into the surrounding environment.
As of 2015…the Japanese government had compensated a man who developed leukemia after months of doing the clean ups at the disaster site.
It was the first official acknowledgment that radiation exposure at the damaged facility may have led to cancer, The New York Times reported. This robot is meant to make the cleanup process much safer.
The process and time which would enacts the production and results would be a very time consuming process as Japan seek to make things get more faster. The robot being a better alternative would be the best choice and a safer means of doing the job.
