If you’ve got the time to binge-watch movies this year, Netflix is planning some great movies and TVs for the year 2022 for everyone’s fun.
This year, a number of interesting shows and Netflix originals will be gracing the on-demand streaming service later in the year.
We have the likes of Umbrella Academy Season 3, Stranger Things season 4, Emily in Paris Season 2, The Flash season 8 (but not in the UK), Titans season 4 (not in the US), Alice in Borderland season 2, Locke & Key season 3, Raising Dion season 2, and so much interesting shows that’ll make their debut appearance on the streaming service.
So if you’re prepared for the year, below are some of the most interesting shows and movies coming to your screen this year exclusive to Netflix.

If you love supernatural horror movies, then you can hop in to start binge-watching Archive 81 which is slated for Jan. 14th. It will start with some damaged videotapes and the ending might deprive you of your sleep at night.
Then there is Rebecca Sonnenshine which is another one to anticipate for. Then by Jan. 27th, The Chosen will make its debut on Netflix. For your information, it’s a sci-fi series and if you’re one of those obsessed with sci-fi shows, then this shouldn’t be a disappointment…hopefully.
Then there is The Rain which has reportedly become one of Netflix’s most-watched non-English shows apart from the viral Squid Game.
If you are in for some treat, then you might want to try that out as well.
Still, in the month of January, In From The Cold is expected to premiere on Jan. 28th and it’s a thriller about an American single mum whose life was ruined by the CIA that revealed her past – spoiler alert! She was a Russian spy, the product of a classified KGB experiment that gave her special powers.
If that sounds cool to you, then you can try it out. Just that I don’t personally like movies that have mutants.
However, we move to the month of February which is when Vikings: Valhalla will debut. The story takes place a hundred years after the original Vikings series and the storyline promises some interesting mix of historical authenticity and of course large men slashing one another with sharp blades.
We’re also hoping to see The Sandman, based on the DC comic, in early 2022.
New series coming to Netflix in 2022
Now onto series, the first is about zombies. The thing I like about survival series is the interesting mix of tragedy and comedy – in this case, you can hop on for All of Us Are Dead which is a series set in a zombie-besieged high school, then there is Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas, this one is an animated series that stars Dave Bautista.
Away from zombies and on to vampires and extraterrestrial powers and magic, then you can binge-watch First Kill. It’s a story about a teenage vampire’s first target that turns out to be a vampire hunter from a family of celebrated slayers – I bet the story is already interesting.
While we’re on the subject of the undead, Resident Evil brings the horror of the game to your TV, telling a brand new Resi story that takes place nearly 30 years after the so-called discovery of the T-Virus.
Then we have The Cuphead Show, a comedy series that features the 1930s Fleischer cartoons. Another one is Cyberpunk: Edgerunners which is an animated series developed with CD Projekt RED – the maker of Cyberpunk 2077.
Horrors and magic spells series on Netflix
The Midnight Club is a Mike Flanagan series that’ll make you sob all through. The target audience is slightly younger individuals and the story is based on a book of the same name.
It’s all about terminally ill teenage patients who share a home and tell one another horror stories.
They then formed a pact that whoever dies first will contact the rest of the Midnight Club from beyond the grave.
There’s a different kind of supernatural in Magic: The Gathering, coming to Netflix in 2022.
The game is a global phenomenon, and now it’s coming to Netflix as an animated series.
NETFLIX IN 2022: Myth and dark fantasies
There is the Sandman which promises a rich blend of modern myth and dark fantasy that interweaves contemporary fiction, historical drama, and ancient legends.
The story follows Morpheus, the Dream King who attempts to mend the mistakes he’s made during his long existence.
If you’re fine with that, the next binge is none other than The Witcher, Blood Origin takes place 1,200 years before the world of The Witcher and tells the story of how monsters, men, and elves were first brought together.
Original Netflix movies in 2022
If you find Enola Holmes interesting enough, then you can prepare for season 2 starring superstars like Millie Bobby Brown as Enola along with Henry Cavill and Louis Partridge.
From sleuthing to slashing: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, a direct sequel to the 1974 horror, is due in 2022 too.
Once again Leatherface is at the center of the story as new victims unwittingly disrupt his home.
If you want romance then you can hop on Love Like The Falling Petals, a film about an aspiring photographer who falls for the beautiful Misaki – only for her to develop a mysterious disease that made her age at an alarming rate.
