Today, we saw the Sony Xperia 5 II leaks and specifications online as the device is tipped to be announced by September 17th. This timing might actually be the period whereby we’ll be getting the device officially because that was the exact time the previous generation was released back in 2019.
The recent rumors of the Xperia 5 II also showed renders of the device as well as expected specifications when it finally drops next month.
The device is rumored to sport a 6.1-inch OLED and Full HD+ display with a tall aspect ratio of about 21:9 while other incredible feature includes 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rates while being powered by the Snapdragon 865 chipset which will not be the plus model found on the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra or the Zenfone 7.
The storage spec is somewhere between 8GB of RAM with 128GB of storage which can be expanded using an external SD card. But no words whether the device will also have support for other storage options such as 12GB RAM with 256GB option aside this one.
As for the camera setup, the device will have a wide, ultra wide angle lens as well as a telephoto sensor with the primary sensor being 12MP with f/1.7 aperture, 24mm equivalent lens, with 82-degree field of view. Also the telephoto lens is another 12MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture which gets 3x optical zoom.
While the ultrawide angle lens is another 12MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 16mm equivalent focal length of a 124-degree field of view. The device will have support for a 120FPS video recording and 4K.
The handset measures 158 x 68 x 8 mm, and it’s kept alive by a 4,000 mAh battery that charges through a USB-C port with PD support. Rumor also said that the Xperia 5 II will include a headphone jack unlike the previous generation which ditched it.
