Prscilla Chan, the wife of Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg hasn’t been sleeping well these days and so her husband had decided to use his genius to help her out of the ordeal. In his engineering knowledge, Zuckerberg revealed he had built a wooden “Sleep Box” to gently help his wife get enough time on the bed.
The wooden Sleep box works as an alerting system which helps the couple to have a bit of shared responsibility in monitoring their kids Max and August. The Box sits right next to Chan’s nightstand and glows a very soft light between 6 and 7 a.m which is the usual time their daughters wake up.
Though the light is very faint enough that it won’t wake Chan up, but it’s still very visible enough that it alerts her whenever their children are awake and so either her or Zuckerberg goes out to check on the kids.
“So far this has worked better than I expected and she can now sleep through the night,” he wrote.
“As an engineer, building a device to help my partner sleep better is one of the best ways I can think of to express my love and gratitude.”
Zuckerberg had suggested that entrepreneurs could try and make Sleep Boxes to help people who are raising kids have good bedtime. It is as though he is actualizing much of his new year resolution already. For example, he’s started a Podcast in which he speaks with people about the state of Technology on the society with public figures.
