The Galaxy A50x series has been widely regarded as Samsungs most successful budget-friendly smartphone thanks to all of its interesting quirks and features.
The latest we have is that the next-generation Galaxy A54 5G is on the way and the official release date is said to have been confirmed according to a report from Pocket-Link.
Samsung posted an online event on its India official site where it gave hints about the details of the forthcoming device. And its release date is slated to take place on the 16th of March at 12 PM noon. The timezone is presumably Indian Standard Time or IST but converting it to GMT would be 6:30 am or 11:30 PDT.
Parts of the detail relating to the device revealed by the South Korean giant include an IP67 rating which will give the device a water and dust resistance capacity. The device will also be protected via Gorilla Glass. But we don’t know the exact version.

The dedicated webpage also states that the unnamed phone will come with “advanced features for India” and that it will “amp up your nights”, thanks to “blur-free low-light nightography”. Several pictures have been posted as well.
Also expected is the Galaxy A34 which we’re yet o confirm whether it will also make its debut the same day.
Other leaked features of the Galaxy A54 5G include its chipset being Samsung’s own Exybos 1380 processor while the screen will be a moderate 6.4-inch AMOLED panel with a FullHD+ resolution. It will also reportedly have a fast 120Hz refresh rate which is the new norm even on budget-friendly devices nowadays.
In the camera department, the device is rumored to possibly feature a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, another 12MP ultrawide sensor, and a 5MP macro lens. Powering the Galaxy A54 5G is probably going to be a big 5,000mAh battery.
Online tipster Yogesh Brar also posted on Twitter that he expects the price to be under 40,000 rupee, so around £400 / $490.
On the other hand, specifications of the Galaxy A34 5G are rumored to be the following: a 6.6-inch sAMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset, a 48M primary sensor with OIS, MP ultrawide sensor, and a big 5,000mAh battery.
Whatever it is Samsung is planning to release, they have about 6 days before unveiling t to the general public. So let’s keep up and see what they’ve got.
