On Tuesday, Oct. 19th, if everything goes right, Google will debut its Pixel 6 lineup as well as other devices according to reports. But it’s not going to be Google that’ll be releasing a new device later on this month, Apple will also release its new Macs which are powered by the new M1X (M1 Pro/Max) chips while Samsung on the other hand might get better ideas concerning its next-gen Galaxy S series by 2022 but that’s not the point.
The release of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro has been a big deal on the news in recent times and one of that is the US pricing of the device.
Initial leaks about the pricing of the device in Europe were revealed but smartphones are sold at a different price point in different markets however, the base price of the devices with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage in the US could sit in the north of US$599 and US$898 for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro respectively.
While this isn’t an official price tag, that price point will be interesting.

Most of us expected the device to sit in the same realm as other premium flagships such as Galaxy S21 series or the iPhone 13 series.
One thing though is the fact that Google had always been price-conscious which led to the downgraded hardware when it released its Pixel 5 series back in 2020 in order to feature 5G technology but also sell the device at a reasonably moderate price point.

Moving forward, the device’s base price might also not include the leaked Pixel Pass subscription which could add an upfront US$50 to the price.
The fact that Google has reworked the Pixel 6 smartphone both in hardware and in software while also offering about four years of Android upgrades and constant software support all at a mid-range price point, I’m 100% in for it but that could also lead to the supply shortage if everyone wants the device but there is a global shortage in the supply of semiconductor – which led to Samsung scrapping its Galaxy Note line up for 2021.
