It’s December and South Korean tech giant, Samsung is reportedly planning the production of another interesting device within its Galaxy Tab S series lineup.
Apart from the iPads, Galaxy Tabs are the second largest on the tablet market and there are new rumors and leaks about what to expect of the next-generation tablet by the time it makes its debut in 2022.
Although there have been a number of leaks in the recent past, the most recent which was published by the avid tech leaker Evan Blass via his Twitter account is allegedly said to be based on an official press render.
In fact, the new render looks pretty much like the unofficial render that was released much earlier – further cementing the fact that the device will feature a dual high-end camera setup.
According to a report from Gizmochina, one of the cameras is supposed to be an ultrawide-angle sensor that can shoot a 4K video at 60 frames per second.

Compared to the previous model which has a single 8MP setup and could only shoot at 1080P at 30 frames per second.
Samsung is also reportedly opting to put both cameras inside a notch which hints at a slimmer bezel around the device’s screen further enhancing the users’ experience.
The device will come in three variants – Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S8+ and Tab S8 Ultra with the Ultra variant sporting the aforementioned features while the base Tab S8 and the mid-range Tab S8+ will both adopt the traditional design aesthetics – thick bezels without any notch and probably with a not-so-good camera system.
Other important specifications of the device include an 11-inch IPS LCD panel for the base model (Galaxy Tab S8) with a 1600 x 2500p resolution and a fast 120Hz refresh rate.
The base model will reportedly sport the high-end Snapdragon 888 chipset with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage out of the box.
The high-end Tab S8 Ultra will come with much more premium specs such as a massive 14.6-inch AMOLED panel that could offer a 3K resolution and of course 120Hz refresh rate.
Also, the tablet could potentially sport the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chipset or Samsung’s Exynos 2200 chipset with a big 11,500mAh battery as well as 45W blazing-fast charging.
If you’re wondering about the cost, that is unknown for now but considering the high-end features of the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, for example, it is surely going to be within the US$1000 price mark while the base model could start for as low as US$400.
