New details have emerged about the future Galaxy S21 series after its appearance on certification website and some alleged renders of the device. The latest we have is the alleged Galaxy S21 being spotted on Geekbench benchmarking website.

In the revelation, the device is said to have the model number SM-G991U and the device is is dubbed “Lahaina” which is a codename for the next-gen Snapdragon 888 chipset from Qualcomm.

According to the listing, the device has 8GB of RAM and runs Android 11 out of the box and could also sport the One UI 3.0+ as well. The benchmark further gave a little bit of details to the performance of the device.

Based on the reported benchmark test done, the Galaxy S21 in a single-core test scored 1075 points while on a multi-core test got 2916 points. GSMArena point out that the result unlike what’s being expected isn’t so mind-blowing. The media outlet added that the performance may further be boosted through its software optimization. Even with that, the performance is still based on speculations and until 2021, we can’t really say what the Galaxy S21 will feel like.

Also we got reports that Samsung could launch the device much earlier than its usual scheduled periods and with that, we can expect a better software optimization to help enhance the device’s battery performances and also better cameras and so forth.

The most interesting thing about the Galaxy S21 series is that Samsung might blur the lines between the Galaxy S21 Ultra and the Note 21 because the former will also come with a S-Pen stylus but we wouldn’t know if the device will have a special compartment to house the S-Pen.

The most interesting news about the next-gen Galaxy S series is the fact that the Galaxy S21 series is going to be reportedly cheaper than the current Galaxy S20 series with the price to start from US$850 (Approximately SAR 12,932 / NG₦323,425) to about US$899 (Approximately SAR 13,677 / NG₦ 342,069)

And last but not the least, a render of the Galaxy S21 Plus recently surfaced online which showed the device with a dimension of 161.55×75.6×7.86mm which makes it slightly larger than the initial rumor as well as the current Galaxy S20 Plus.
